How can I get admitted into Uniben?-naijastudents'blog

One of the best Universities in Nigeria (though ranking as No.12 at the moment), Uniben is a school you ought to be if you're aspiring to study in a University. The most prestigious institute in the south, once the No.1 in Nigeria and West Africa, uniben has grown from Honour to Honour, increased in prestige and Intellect. Has produced great statesmen, intellectuals and renowned men in the society. Being knowned and recognized as a student of Uniben is a thing of great pride and Honour.
Are you aspiring to study in Uniben? Did you enrol for this year's Jamb?
(PPT,CBT), best of wishes. You must have heard many frightening stories about getting admission
into uniben. Some might have told you that without connection you can't secure admission into uniben or into some competitive courses like medicine, engineering, law e.t.c. But I bring you good news, they are all lies, the admission depends on you,get the required cut off mark and above and no one will deny you your admission. Don't be scared by what you hear, it is very posible to gain admission into
Uniben even on one..

attempt('cus I did it). Jamb comes first, then PUTME(post unified tertiary matriculation examination)

To be Eligible to enter for this year's PUTME,it is required that you pass a cut-off of 200 in Jamb and be sure to have taken Uniben as your first choice institution.(as some though passing the Jamb and postume
exams excellently were not offered admission because they took Uniben as a second choice).
Permit me to say these federal universities are full of pride, they 'frown' at you putting them second.

Your PUTME score is combined with your Jamb score to give an aggregate. Your Jamb score is divided by eight and your post ume score is divided by two. The two dividends are added up to sum up to your
aggregate. I.eAggregate=Jamb score/8 + putme/2.
Though the general aggregate cut-off  is 50,each faculty has its own  aggregate cut-off for admission.Your aggregate score determines if you'll be admitted into your choice course of study or not.

Your Jamb & PUTME scores go together in determining your aggregate score which determines your admission. You might have thought and said"If I score like 280 in Jamb,I'll be very very sure of
admission,PUTME will no longer be a problem" Uniben might surprise you. Or in the other hand you might be thinking "if I can just score 201,203,210 or 200 at the dot,I'll be very happy, I'll be admitted"
you might be very surprised by what will happen in the end,you might fall into a pit.
Both exams(Jamb & PUTME) should be taken with equal seriousness and importance, a very high score in Jamb will greatly boost your aggregate score which will increase your chances of admission and so
will your PUTME score.
Have you never wondered and imagined why two exams are written? Why don't we just use only Jamb as it was before,or why don't we just use the PUTME as an entrance exam, why must we write two exams?
This's the reason- the number of applicants are increasing annually at a huge rate, and there are not enough schools to take them all in. So the two exams are ways of screening and reducing the number in
steps(If Jamb doesn't hit you out then PUTME might send you packing). E.g out of about 146,000 candidates that applied for Uniben in 2013 only about 4.2% were admited. The schools are looking for ways to chase you away, but are you gonna run?
Your PUTME and Jamb score both will decide. Take both exams equally serious 'cus they are the determinants of your admission.
Score FAR above 200 in your Jamb, score 60 and above in PUTME. Make your admission undeniable, assured. Leave the sphere of the mediocres and by your scores stand on the mountain 'cus he that is standing on a mountain is standing sure.Don't feel because you had a huge score in Jamb then you're very sure of Admission, joke with PUTME and see yourself buying the Jamb form again. If your Jamb score ain't that high, there still hope get ready to score
high in PUTME.

In all none of the exams is more important than the other they go
together,they decide your admission.

Heed to these, and I'll be welcoming you to the great citadel next session.
